Shredded chicken

This is a simple, go-to recipe for shredded chicken.

Chicken can be basic and bland if it's not cooked well. Needing to be cooked all the way through, it's easy to make it too dry or over-cooked, and unlike most cuts of beef, chicken often isn't good on its own.

Shredded chicken is a foolproof way to make chicken tender, moist, and ready for cheese, sour cream and other additions to spice it up. Even with variations of cooking time it's hard to mess up shredded chicken!

Instructions:

- Add chicken pieces (any kind) to a pot or slow cooker.

- Cover with water, chicken broth, or a combination.

- Cook on low heat (a simmer) for 6-8 hours, or if you don't have the time, on high heat for 3-4.

- Remove from the liquid and pull apart with forks.

- Salt to taste.
